HB 2390 - follow the bill here
From Mark Gjurasic, January 8th:
Dear WAA Members:
I just got information from Rod Kauffman that clarifies some questions on HB 2390 recently introduced and which has a hearing.
Please let me share with you.
Many thanks.

I just spoke with Jeff Mitchell; 360.786.7139; Mitchell.Jeffrey@leg.wa.gov
He is the staff person working this bill remembering that in state BH & O tax lingo a person is actually a company or corporation this bill is meant to correct the problem with HB 12565 last year
Its intent is this: Companies or organizations that receive dues and initiation fees that are not a not-for-profit like a country club, golf course, etc. could no longer get the B & O tax exemption that non-profits get from dues.
Would not impact BOMA or BOMA members as far as their BOMA relationship goes. Does not impact people just the for profit clubs and associations that receive dues $
Hope this helps. Mark, we will not be testifying on this next week for the reasons above.
